AUDITIONS! Fall 2009

We are shortly arriving to the first day of school and you all know what that means. AUDITIONS are coming up! This semester we have a two great shows/projects coming up. Our mainstage production will be "Treasure Island" by Robert Lewis Stevenson. This will be adapted for the stage and directed by Bruce W. DesDernier. Our studio show will be a film project called "Five Films One-Universe." William Clay along with a few other directors will be shooting this film during the semester with a premiere of the film in February 2010.

As far as audition information, they will be held September 1-2 at 7-10pm in the Campus Theatre (14000 Fruitvale Ave. Saratoga, Ca 95070) with callbacks happening on September 3 @ 7-10pm in the same location. These are cold readings which means you do not need to prepare any material to audition. Just show up and the staff at the theatre will direct you on the procedures.

Rehearsals for these shows begin on Tuesday September 8. Specific times and place will be determined after callbacks are completed.

The performance dates of "Treasure Island" will be November 20-December 6. More specific dates and times will be made available at a later date.

What better way to move into the 21 century at the West Valley Theatre than to have our first YouTube channel. After many students told us we should have one, well now that has come to light. Hopefully this will be used to our best ability and we can use all the functions to show YOU what is going on here around the theatre department. Just so I don't have to make 2 posts, I would like to update on how YOU can help with our show. The best way is to come into the shop and help us build the show. We are looking for painters, carpenters, costume help and a lot more to make the set look amazing. Just show up and ask for Brad, or Scott and they'll put you to work. Hope to see you there.

The Alpha Project is back!

This year we are presenting so many new and exciting original pieces that we have had to create two unique evenings of theatre.
11 pieces will be performed in a repertory style in performances running from July 23rd to July 26th. Performance times are: July 23rd @ 8pm (Part 1) July 24th @ 8pm (Part 2) July 25th @ 2pm (Part 2) and 8pm (Part 1) and July 26th @ 1pm (Part 1) and 7pm (Part 2)
