YouTube is here!

What better way to move into the 21 century at the West Valley Theatre than to have our first YouTube channel. After many students told us we should have one, well now that has come to light. Hopefully this will be used to our best ability and we can use all the functions to show YOU what is going on here around the theatre department. Visit it at: youtube.com/wvctheatre Please subscribe and let us know how you like it, give us comments for just browse through and be enlightened.

Just so I don't have to make 2 posts, I would like to update on how YOU can help with our show. The best way is to come into the shop and help us build the show. We are looking for painters, carpenters, costume help and a lot more to make the set look amazing. Just show up and ask for Brad, or Scott and they'll put you to work. Hope to see you there.

Successful Show!

After a grueling 6 weeks of rehearsals and 2 weeks of shows, the curtain came down on "3 By Shepard." We first want to thank all of your patrons for coming and experiencing Sam Shepard with us. Without you we would not have had the opportunity to put this production on. Your support encourages our actors to perform to the best of their ability. Our director Brad Weisberg spend nearly every night committed to this project and evolved our students to portray characters their not used to playing. We can't say enough of how helpful his knowledge brings to our actors and production staff. To all of our actors spending their evenings with us and skipping out on the latest movie to perform is a great dedication to the theatre. Finally we want to thank all of our backstage crew, especially our stage manager mongo for his tireless effort. Thank you all for a whole night of theatre!

NOW.....we switch gears for our production of "Great Expectations" by: Charles Dickens. Keep here for updated information regarding this show.

Thank You!

Oh Man! Thank you EVERYONE for your wonderful work throughout the auditions. There's a reason why it's going to break my heart to leave you. You are ALL HEART!!! Between you and me, that's the thing that directors look for during auditions -- HEART! More than talent, it's about HEART! I'd like to think that when you audition elsewhere, after your experience with us, that those directors appreciate and spot you as a WVC actor BECAUSE of that heart. :)

If you didn't get cast this time, DON'T stop auditioning for us! So much of casting is about type, height, and schedules. And all that is OUT of your control. You can just be you in your circumstances, right?

This blog idea was the brain child of Julie Pike and Shane Truskolaski. Be sure to give them a hearty handshake when you see them next. This is going to be fun!!!!
